78% in Europe fear Muslim migration, want tighter borders
With the rife security issues experienced across Europe due to mass Muslim migration, a poll conducted across all 28 nations in the European Union (EU) revealed that 78 percent of EU citizens see the influx as a problem and desire tighter control of Europeâs external borders.
âResidents of the EU continue to believe that migration has a significant impact: the majority (62 percent) of people believe that immigration increases crime and the threat of terrorism, while changing European culture and posing a huge burden on receiving countries,â Project 28 reported from its poll. âThe perception of migration has also changed, with more and more people (now 54 percent) believing that the majority of migrants come to Europe for economic reasons and state benefits.â
âOverall, 82 percent of people think there is a chance that a terrorist attack similar to what happened in Paris, in Brussels or in Berlin could happen in their country, [and] most of Europe is dissatisfied with Brusselsâs handling of the immigration crisis,â Project 28 researchers divulged. â[M]ore than two-thirds (68 percent) of survey participants are afraid [âstrongly fearâ or âmoderately fearâ] that African immigrants will arrive to Europe in masses in the next decade.â
â[M]ore citizens in every singleEuropean country say that [Muslim migration] is a âserious problemâ than say it is not a problem or not a very serious problem,â Breitbart News reported from the survey. âThe rapid population growth of Muslims in Europe is another area of particular concern among Europeans ⊠with 70 percent of the people believing that a growing Muslim presence is a problem and a mere 8 percent saying it is no threat at all.â 78% in Europe fear Muslim migration, want tighter borders
