Al-Awlaki: Fra dialogpartner til modtager af Hellfire-missil
Man mindes Arnold Schwarzeneggers klassiske replik i True Lies: “You’re fired!“.
The DC area mosque where recently departed Al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki served has put out a press release where they provide us with this insight:
From 2001 to 2002, al-Awlaki served as an Imam at the center, according to a release from Imam Johari Abdul-Malik, director of outreach for the Falls Church-based Islamic center. In the release, he said al-Awlaki was known for his interfaith outreach, civic engagement and tolerance in the Northern Virginia community. […]
Awlaki’s DC mosque: AQ cleric was known for interfaith outreach, tolerance and civic engagement
U.S-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan, who edited the slick Jihadi Internet magazine, were killed in an air strike on their convoy in Yemen by a joint CIA-U.S. military operation, according to counterterrorism officials. Al-Awlaki was targeted in the killing, but Khan apparently was not targeted directly.
After three weeks of tracking the targets, U.S. armed drones and fighter jets shadowed the al-Qaida convoy before armed drones launched their lethal strike early Friday. […] US officials: US attack in Yemen kills al-Awlaki
[…] What’s most striking about this is not that the U.S. Government has seized and exercised exactly the power the Fifth Amendment was designed to bar (“No person shall be deprived of life without due process of law”), and did so in a way that almost certainly violates core First Amendment protections (questions that will now never be decided in a court of law). […] The due-process-free assassination of U.S. citizens is now reality
Left-wing commentator annoyed that al-Awlaki didn’t get “due process”
Talibanhustrun i Sveriges Radio
St George’s Church in the village of Al Marinab of the province of Edfu was attacked and burned by Muslim fanatics from the same and neighboring villages. No one was inside the church during the attack. This church was attacked several weeks ago by the same mob of Muslims who demanded to remove its cross. Today, they succeeded in doing so as they have been threatening for several days. They prayed their Friday prayers in front of the burned church. The fanatics numbered approximately 150. Three adjacent homes, a store as well as a building, all of which are owned by Copts, have also been burned. […] St George’s Church in Al Marinab, Edfu, attacked and burned by Muslim fanatics
